Wow,didn't know trains were allowed 300kph in the Netherlands. Dutch trains never go above 160 or 180 I believe. That was fast. I have a question, on the HSL you have a few points were it says "neutral section",I have seen "Phase lock" mentioned by Dutch drivers. Is this the same and what is it?

I like how this video was made into almost a tutorial. Pity not whole the dash is allowed to be shown, like in a simulator game like Train Sim World, but still nice with all the annotations!

Great video. But now 3-4 years later youtube degraded image quality badly. Also, the Belgian-part of the high speed line (HSL) is a big disappointment, since there is no HSL at all from north of Antwerp until Brussels! It's about time to make it go 300 km/h between Antwerp and Brussels too.

This is one of my favorite routes because it's between the Netherlands and Belgium two of my most liked nations.

"Neutral Section"? "TBL"?

What is that horrible, ear-aching sound (eeeech) repeating it itself every minute or so? That must be ruining the poor train driver's life completely, it's so horrendous that I can't watch the vid with sound turned on, I have to mute it. Isn't there some kind of labor-laws that can protect the poor guy from being exposed to this? No doubt they deliberately made it as horrible as they could, maybe to hinder him from falling asleep? - Wouldn't it be more thoughtful (mildly spoken) if he could stop the noise by confirming he's awake pushing a button that lights up, say 5 secs before the screech sound? If he doesn't push the light button, the "SCREEECH" will sound? That way he would not be forced to listen to it. Unwanted, ear-aching sounds like this is certainly not good for your health. I can't watch the vid with sound ON without being highly distressed from it, just the first minutes were already getting to me. Now imagine being subject to the sound for hours and hours each and every day. That means a horrible, stressful working day. Pure torture, and probably a shortened life span for the driver. The sound is certainly not good for the health, not at all. I'd quit the job already a few kilometers after leaving the train station, simply stop the train, call the central and tell them there's a train parked on the main strech 2 kilometers out. And leave by foot. I would do exactly that, hopefully costing the train company a tonne of money from complaining passangers and time schedules in the whole region falling apart from the parked train. That should teach the damn employer to treat people nicely.

Why is the video quality so low?

285 KPH through a tunnel! Where do you ever see that? I can just imagine the rush of air coming out of the tunnel as the train exits!
